1.
Did You Find Your Brain? Verse 1: I thought I’d like too But change isn’t the cure To dreams of being happy I’m still alone Chorus: Did you find your brain? Did you find your brain? Verse 2: I never found my brain It wasn’t in the city or the halls Or between lines of academic walls Oh help me find my brain Chorus: Did you find your brain? Did you find your brain?
2.
Around You 02:42
Around You: Verse 1: Do you have a life if you’re living inside? 150 to 175 Stop sulking now, stop sulking now “Does it make a different?” Doesn’t make a difference now What do you think when you’re telling them lies? Like how your tired from working all night But you’re trying really hard to stay alive To stay alive Chorus: I don’t want to be around Be around You Verse 2: Do you see my disguise? Alcohol to be alive And if you don’t want to talk just say you’re alright Just say you’re alright Bridge: I’m sick of the pain in my stomach
3.
I’m Glad I Left: Verse 1: Gasoline it smells so strong When it drips off my wall I like the way it leaks when I’m in the halls And the sound of city calls Chorus: I’m glad I left but I don’t reject That I miss the way it felt Living now isn’t as fun As it was with you Verse 2: Don’t say I’m acting strange Because I sit all day It’s not weird to hesitate Feeling out of place Chorus: I’m glad I left but I don’t reject That I miss the way it felt Living now isn’t as fun As it was with you Bridge: It’s not the way I hoped it would be It’s not the way I thought it out I don’t feel right Chorus: I’m glad I left but I don’t reject That I miss the way it felt Living now isn’t as fun As it was with you
4.
Here With You: Verse 1: I’ll never do it again As I count the money in my hands Chorus: Oh my nights in with you I think a little bit of my mind lives with you And oh baby, you know that I love, you know when I’m here with you Verse 2: A stare and conversation turns to self mutilation And I swear I’ll never kill myself But it doesn’t stop me from thinking about it Well I won’t stick around to see you drown Chorus: Oh my nights in with you I think a little bit of my mind lives with you And oh baby, you know that I love, you know when I’m here with you
5.
I Wish You Adored Me: Verse 1: I’m not really sure if I am awake But I feel you raid my head The deeper the smile the harder it takes To pretend to ignore you You sat in my sight, like April ill wait, until you turn around and murmur Chorus: I wish you adored me But I filled you up hatred I wish you adored me I’m sorry for all the madness Verse 2: “I like what you wear, but not you hair, does it matter?” I couldn’t care because in case you’re unaware I think I love you So I begin to share about my failed love affairs So you would stay Now I know that it was wrong, I hope you hear this song And know that I am sorry Verse 3: I’m not really fond of real life Because it turns my head to fear A perfect affair of tasteful despair Makes me feel warmer And with a rush and a stare you bolt anywhere Where I’m forgotten I dream that you’re lost and calling my name So I wouldn’t have to hear

about

Evening is Youth follow up their first two singles, 'Did You Find Your Brain' and 'I'm Glad I Left', with the release of their five track, self-titled debut EP.
Though ambiguous, each track draws deeply from adolescent anxieties that define modern youth. Identity, self-actualisation and the ‘peeling away of the fabricated layers of personality’ are all consistent themes throughout the EP.
The songs are influenced by the vast history of post punk, shoegaze, and indie electronica - distilled down into a unique sound connected by the collective authenticity and legacy of those previous countercultures. “Everything that has ever happened to us informs our music,” says frontman Connor Robinson-Pierce.

The trio of Connor Robinson-Pierce, Luke Lattimore and Jack Collin, just like their musical heroes before them, refuse to offer justification or explanation for what they do. “A song is only yours until it's heard by others, it shouldn’t - or can’t really - have one meaning,” says Connor.
Evening is Youth (the band) is just as much inspired by the general aimlessness of their generation as it is by their musical heritage .
'Evening is Youth EP is out today via New Zealand indie label Bigpop Records.
