Evening Is Youth “I’m Glad I Left”
Evening Is Youth’s upcoming single “I’m Glad I Left” is set for release through Bigpop
Records on June 10, 2022.
Evening is Youth, an act characterised by a paradoxical mix of intensity and aloofness, is
unveiling their sophomore single, I’m Glad I Left on June 10th. The trio’s eccentric collection of
inspirations pulls from a vast history of post-punk, shoegaze, and indie electronica, forming a
broad discography connected by authenticity and a legacy of counterculture.
Evening Is Youth is preparing to release their debut EP following this single. With the “Did You
Find My Brain?” single already out and floating through over 20 curated Spotify playlists, and
local live shows planned for the year, Evening is Youth are gearing up for the NZ summer
festival season.
lyrics
Evening Is Youth
I’m Glad I Left
Lyrics
Verse1:
Gasoline it smells so strong
When it drips off my wall
I like the way it leaks when I’m in the halls
And the sound of city calls
Chorus:
I’m glad I left but I don’t reject
That I miss the way it felt
Living now isn’t as fun
As it was with you
Verse2:
Don’t say I’m acting strange
Because I sit all day
It’s not weird to hesitate
Feeling out of place
Bridge:
It’s not the way I hoped it would be
It’s not the way I thought it out
I don’t feel right
